Getting In

Spending a two week vacation in Hawaii in February sounds wonderful, doesn't it?  No snow, no cold, blue skies, green vegetation, and the ocean!  Ahhhhhh.....

It had been a few years since we went to Hawaii, as we had spent the past couple of years going to Florida and on a cruise in February.  We go on a trip every year in February, as that's when Craig is off from the temple and doesn't have to worry about getting a sub.  When we first were planning our trip I honestly wasn't sure I wanted to go as I had started to get attached to Florida, but in the end I was happy to be back in Hawaii.

The first week we spent on the island of Kauai.  The day we arrived we got in about 5 or 6 PM.  It was overcast, and quickly got dark, but here are a few shots from the drive up to where we’re staying in Princeville, about 45 minutes from the airport.  Note the chicken picture...those little guys are all over the island of Kauai! Supposedly the hurricanes in 1982 and 1992 destroyed their coops and now they run wild and are seen everywhere.
